Acting as a Lifestyle

Yenta is my mother

A little Jewish woman

In a little Jewish house

With little Jewish children

Married to a Jewish doctor

They thought me for one as well

A Yenta

I can play the part

I acted for many years

"She's very talented", they used to say

When I met him I was acting

When we made love I was acting

When we got married I was acting

Oh yes, I am so good

How come when I met her I could no longer act?

I couldn't look away

I couldn't ignore the tug

That attracted me to her like a magnet

So I surrendered

"What is it that you do?" I asked her

She looked at me with wide eyes

"I'm a physical therapist" she offered

You always wanted me to marry a Jewish doctor
